Regenerative Endodontics
Presented by
Nima Dayani, DDS, MS
Over the last few years, a paradigm shift has taken place in endodontics. Some endodontists are now practicing in-office regenerative endodontics on immature permanent necrotic teeth.
Using conservative techniques, the canals are disinfected and the remaining viable stem cells are promoted to re-vascularize, regenerate and repair the pulp tissue in the immature canal space, completing apex formation and tooth maturation.
This essay reviews the basic and clinical sciences involved in this treatment modality, as well as a comparison of alternative treatment options.
